We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Backend Web Developer to join our growing team and help build the digital infrastructure that supports our operations, customers, and future innovation. Crain Walnut Shelling is a family‑run, 300‑employee food‑production company headquartered in California’s Central Valley. We’re known for high‑quality walnut processing, continuous innovation, and a tight‑knit culture that encourages learning. We’re expanding our digital footprint—customer portals, IoT‑enabled plant dashboards, and ecommerce integrations—and need a dedicated back‑end developer to power it all.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain robust APIs for our website, customer portal, and mobile dashboards
• Model data and manage relational databases (schema design, migrations, performance tuning)
• Collaborate with plant engineers, operations teams, and other developers to scope features, resolve bugs, and write test-covered code
• Integrate with third-party systems (e.g., ecommerce platforms, shipping/logistics APIs, ERP systems)
• Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, and development best practices
• Help scale and secure backend systems as we grow our digital offerings

Qualifications:

• 3+ years professional back‑end experience
• Proficiency in C#, or Typescript
• Understanding of basic data structures
• Understanding of OOP, and Functional Programming
• Strong understanding of MSSQL
• Familiarity with Git, Azure DevOps
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical staff (plant managers, sales team, etc.)
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Understanding of web and API security, JWT, Active Directory, CSRF tokens.
• Preferred experience in food or manufacturing tech (IoT, MES, ERP).
• Familiarity with front‑end frameworks (React/Vue) for full‑stack collaboration not required but preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
