Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced UX/UI Designer to support a major public-sector website redesign. This role focuses on creating accessible, responsive, and user-centered digital experiences using modern design tools and best practices.
You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team including researchers, developers, content strategists, and project managers to deliver high-impact, inclusive digital solutions for a diverse user base.
Responsibilities:
- Design responsive, accessible, and intuitive web interfaces using tools like Figma or Adobe XD
- Collaborate closely with UX researchers, developers, and other team members to translate insights into functional design
- Ensure all designs meet WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 accessibility standards
- Develop and maintain scalable design systems and UI components
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to iterative improvements
- Support documentation and hand-off for development teams using component libraries
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum five (5) years of experience designing responsive websites using Figma, Adobe XD, or similar tools
- Experience designing for WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, Section 508 standards, and user-centered digital journeys
- Resume must include at least one (1) of the following:
- A large public sector or health-sector website
- A website with a fully versioned design system
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience designing components for Adobe or Figma-based design systems integrated with code libraries
Preferred Skills & Tools:
- Strong understanding of responsive and mobile-first design principles
- Experience with design systems and accessibility testing tools
- Comfort working in Agile or iterative project environments
- Basic knowledge of front-end collaboration (e.g., communicating with developers on HTML/CSS behavior)
Compensation and Details:
- Job Type: Full-time, Contract (Corp-to-Corp only)
- Compensation: $70.00/hour
- Location: Remote
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shift
