We are currently hiring an additional Network Administrator to join our winning team to serve the fine business owners of Chattanooga well. Our clients rely on us to know our stuff, do the right thing, and work hard to maintain the order and stability of their systems. Your duties and responsibilities include timely and complete documentation for the company and clients, managing billable and non-billable time entries, invoicing clients, scheduling meetings and service appointments, and providing efficient and accurate technical support to our clients. You will maintain a clean working environment and cooperate with your peers to maintain common areas. Previous experience as a Network Technician, or equivalent position by another title, is essential. A successful Network Administrator should know the fundamentals of networking, have experience with a variety of operating systems and office software (such as Windows 10-11, Mac OS, Microsoft SQL, Firewall administration, WiFi management, Virtualization, Email Filtering fundamentals, Windows Server 2012-2025, QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite), network cabling, and be able to learn and follow our processes and troubleshoot/problem-solve accurately.

Your quality of work will be evaluated based upon accuracy, organization, communication, documentation, and other metrics to ensure high quality, effectivity and efficiency.

Billable time minimum requirements must be met to maintain employment, and exceeding billable time expectations will be rewarded with healthy bonuses. You can expect to perform the following:

  • Daily Tech Support on site or remote using phone and remote access tools.
  • Ensure that all services, billable time, hardware, software, renewals, and licensing, are invoiced and delivered on time.
  • Daily monitoring and maintenance of the Support Queue to ensure that clients are served accurately in a timely manner and your time, hardware, software, parts, supplies, etc., are billed accordingly.
  • Schedule meetings and collaborate with StarNet personnel, clients, and vendors.
  • Participate in bi-weekly collaborative Billing Meetings.
  • Share common office duties, such as cleaning your own work space daily and maintaining common areas, and other non-tech duties as assigned.
  • Implement and maintain network security protocols, including firewalls and encryption.
  • Design, configure, and manage network infrastructure and elements, including routers, switches, access points, firewalls, power delivery, cabling, and security.
  • Install and configure remote access software, antimalware software, VPN, and MFA software and services.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as software updates and backups.
  • Communicate effectively with customers respectfully, politely, and as a peer and partner.
  • StarNet currently serves over 200 unique commercial clients per year. Despite the fact that we standardize client networks, every network is different. Every client and company culture is different. The ideal candidate will be agile, resourceful, and able to pivot and will enjoy doing so, and will enjoy working with almost every hardware and software in the market.

This position has a lot of potential for advancement and self-generating bonuses.

Salary: Commensurate with experience. We reward excellence, loyalty, and dependability with salary increases and additional vacation and PTO. Some employees have received salary increases of 25% over 5 years.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $89,000.00 per year
