Summary/Objective

Friant is seeking a highly skilled AI Engineer to design, develop, and deploy scalable artificial intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in machine learning, deep learning, and system integration, with the ability to turn complex business challenges into production-ready AI systems.

This role requires both strong technical depth and practical implementation experience in real-world environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy machine learning and deep learning models
  • Build and optimize data pipelines for AI training and inference
  • Integrate AI/ML models into production systems via APIs and microservices
  • Implement LLM-based applications (chatbots, document processing, automation agents)
  • Fine-tune and optimize pre-trained models for specific business use cases
  • Work closely with data engineers and product teams to define AI architecture
  • Monitor model performance and improve accuracy, scalability, and efficiency
  • Ensure responsible AI practices, security, and data governance

Technical Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or related field
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML development
  • Strong proficiency in Python
  • Experience with ML frameworks:
  • - TensorFlow / PyTorch
  • - Scikit-learn
  • Experience with LLM frameworks:
  • - OpenAI API
  • - LangChain / LlamaIndex
  • - RAG architectures
  • Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, FAISS, Weaviate, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of:
  • - Supervised & unsupervised learning
  • - Neural networks
  • - NLP
  • - Model evaluation metrics
  • Experience with REST APIs and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience deploying AI systems in production environments
  • Knowledge of MLOps tools (MLflow, Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience building AI automation workflows
  • Familiarity with CRM/ERP integrations is a plus
  • Experience with data visualization and analytics tools

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Appropriate personal protective equipment will be required when visiting production areas.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen and use a computer for extended periods of time. Employee must maintain physical condition appropriate to perform job duties, which may include sitting for long periods of time and may include lifting/moving items up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $160,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year
