Job description
Position Overview:
Our client who is one of the leading service providers in the HVAC & Plumbing industry for more than 5 decades is looking for a Director of IT Projects and Operations to lead their technology initiatives focusing on system standardization, supplier contract optimization, cybersecurity, and infrastructure excellence.
This position will work with various business stakeholders as well as IT counterparts at the corporate level to operate, maintain and improve IT infrastructure, application support, 3rd party managed services, networks, cybersecurity, and telephony services. The Director of IT will report directly to the corporate CIO.
What will you be doing?
- Lead the technical components of harmonizing our application systems and interfaces across U.S. business units to ensure consistency, scalability, and interoperability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across all areas of the business on this standardization project, ensuring business process changes are aligned with technical updates.
- Assess and renegotiate vendor agreements to optimize value while reducing costs.
- Design and implement performance metrics and governance frameworks to strengthen supplier relationship management.
- Establish and enforce comprehensive cybersecurity policies and protocols in alignment with corporate standards.
- Continuously monitor the evolving threat landscape and apply proactive risk mitigation strategies.
- Promote security awareness by educating users on best practices and risk identification
- Identify and drive IT cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and performance standards.
- Introduce process improvements and automation solutions to boost operational efficiency
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality IT support services for internal users, including help desk operations and training, in collaboration with external providers.
- Promote a culture of responsiveness and continuous improvement to enhance user satisfaction
- Maintain and enhance core IT infrastructure, including networks, mobile devices, servers, and cloud environments where applicable.
- Ensure system reliability, uptime, and scalability to effectively support business growth
Must haves"
- 10+ years of progressive IT leadership, including 3+ years in a director-level role with college diploma or university degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven success in planning and executing complex projects, including cross-functional technical programs with diverse stakeholders and business practices.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise platforms (Service Titan experience is a strong asset).
- Solid background in the service industry with deep knowledge of resource optimization, call center operations, and field service management.
- Skilled at building alignment, fostering collaboration, and driving decisions that mitigate risk and support change.
- Familiarity with hybrid and multi-cloud strategies, as well as SaaS models.
- Ability to dive into detail when necessary to oversee service providers and manage daily IT operations.
- Demonstrated ability to raise service levels by developing KPIs, dashboards, and scorecards that align IT performance with business outcomes.
- Strong financial literacy, including budgeting, cost optimization, ROI analysis, and expense tracking.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $160,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
