Millennial Software is looking for a self-starting, team-oriented Engineer to join our dynamic development team in supporting a Government customer
Technical Tasks/Requirements:
- Utilize strong technical foundation with skills such as scripting and working to get tools from production into operation using systems engineering skills
- Develop innovative solutions and coordinate those solutions between members of the technical and operational staff at a classified government site and end-users in the field
- Work closely with customers, operational staff, and development staff to solve problems in an operational environment
- Maintain current knowledge of engineering practices and technical solutions
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement automated test tools and strategies
- Take direction from senior technical leadership and/or Project Manager on project specifications
- Setup, configure and maintain various EC2 and Containerized environments to support development, test, integration, and operational software threads
- Setup, configure and maintain Cloud environments (i.e. AWS).
Minimum Skills Required:
- Must be a US Citizen Willing to work onsite in Government customer sites in Northern Virginia
- Experience with automated deployment technologies such as CloudFormation and Ansible
- Linux system administration experience (RedHat, CentOS, Rocky)
- Prior experience using Kubernetes to orchestrate the deployment, scaling, and management of Docker containers
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Must hold active Security+ certification
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or GitLab
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus or Grafana
- Experience with storage provisioning along with data backup and restore
- Experience with both compiled and dynamic programming languages
- Experience with consolidating and presenting system health and metrics
Accepting the following levels:
- Mid: Typically requires a minimum of 3-7 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 1-5 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience
- Senior: Typically requires a minimum of 5 to 8+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree; or a 3-5 years’ experience with a Master's degree; or 1- 3 years of experience with a PhD degree
Preferred Skills:
- Experience supporting software in a production environment
- Computer Science or related degree
- Prior experience using Hashicorp suite tools such as Packer, Terraform
