Field Survey Technician * Location: Brownsville, Texas *

Summary

Gibraltar US is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Field Survey Technician to join our team. In this role, you’ll perform a variety of survey tasks using advanced equipment and software to support construction projects. You’ll help ensure accuracy in measurements, models, and plans while working in a fast-paced, field-based environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop an understanding of field instrumentation, GPS, and robotic total stations
  • Operate computer workstations to build 3D models of construction sites using Trimble, Leica, or Topcon
  • Apply field survey methods and perform calculations
  • Prepare for daily survey tasks by loading vehicles, checking supplies, and ensuring all equipment is charged, calibrated, and operational
  • Review and interpret engineering plans, profiles, cross-sections, boundaries, and contour drawings
  • Perform a variety of survey work including leveling, traversing, boundary, construction, topographic, and control surveys
  • Operate and adjust survey equipment such as transits, total stations (manual and robotic), and data collectors
  • Analyze and interpret control and boundary monument records and locate monuments in the field

What You Bring

  • Knowledge of general field surveying methods and use of surveying equipment
  • Experience with Trimble, Leica, or Topcon
  • Proficiency in mid-level mathematics
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication and analytical skills
  • Education and Experience
  • 3–5+ years of relevant surveying or software experience in the construction industry
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to travel as needed.
