Role Summary

The DevOps Engineer will own infrastructure scaling and reliability across Extend’s platform, supporting growth to 100x current workloads. This role will design and implement enterprise-ready deployment pipelines, optimize latency across the stack, and build systems for monitoring, debugging, and security isolation.

Note: We are looking for US citizen or Green Card candidate for this role

Core Responsibilities

• Scale infrastructure 100x across API calls, document processing workloads, and terabytes of data.
• Build deployment pipelines and tooling for one-click enterprise self-hosted deployments.
• Optimize performance and reduce latency at all layers.
• Create observability systems that diagnose root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Design security and isolation boundaries for serving both startups and Fortune 500 clients.
• Collaborate directly with leadership to influence product and engineering strategy.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 4–9 years of experience building complex software systems in production environments.
• Proven experience scaling infrastructure at high-growth startups.
• Proficiency with modern cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP).
• Expertise with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Kubernetes).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Ability to take abstract projects from concept to delivery.
• High agency, ownership mindset, and ability to thrive in ambiguity.
• Willingness and ability to work in-person 5 days/week in NYC.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with developer tools.
• Former founder experience.
• Strong educational background (e.g., University of Waterloo, MIT, Caltech).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $175,967.17 - $210,412.07 per year
