Job description
Summary
The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and support of the organization's
IT infrastructure across multiple sites. This includes managing and restoring system and database backups, supporting hybrid
email environments (On-Premises and Online), and maintaining both physical and virtual server environments. The role involves
installing and supporting key systems such as digital signage, antivirus, ticketing systems, and error reporting tools.
Additional responsibilities include monitoring a modified Tier 2 Data Center and remote office equipment, supporting telephone
systems, scheduling and deploying system updates, and configuring new servers and network components (WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi,
VPN and firewalls). The administrator also oversees power systems like UPS units and ensures documentation of security and
administrative processes, including policy creation and updates.
This position requires a steady work habit at all times. The employee must demonstrate the ability to remain focused on work
with multiple interruptions daily. In addition, this position can be demanding in terms of time management, knowledge, skills,
and commitment to completing tasks daily. Urgency and pressure for prompt, accurate results are routine. Some overtime may
be required.
Essential Duties
- Creating and restore system backups, database backups, system configuration to support daily operations.
- Support email system both On-Premises and Online in a hybrid environment. Migration, maintenance, backup and restore as necessary.
- Maintain and support both virtual and physical environments.
- Install, maintain and support: signage, antivirus, trouble call ticketing system and error reporting systems.
- Maintain and monitor modified Tier 2 Data Center and remote office equipment.
- Telephone system support, scripting and troubleshooting.
- Scheduling and installation, patches, upgrades, firmware updates for all company IT equipment.
- Design, configure, and install new servers (Physical & Virtual) along with necessary software components.
- Design, configure and install WAN, LAN, WIFI, Site-to-site VPNs and firewalls network software/hardware. Upon completion monitor, troubleshooting and repair.
- Configure and size UPS for branch offices, server room, including troubleshooting and batteries replacement.
- Make recommendations, upgrades as appropriate, for remote office equipment and network configurations.
- Document administration and security processes. Create and update company, IT Department policies and procedures documents.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for IT supported software products and equipment.
- Ensure the good operation of the company’s IT department per operating procedures standards, policies and practices; and other tasks as directed by the IT Manager.
- Regular and predictable attendance is essential for this position.
Education and/or Work Experience
- Working on or completed bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
- Experience in Microsoft products
Skills Required
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows server, Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, Azure and EntraID.
- Knowledge in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Regular Expressions or similar.
- Working knowledge of computer hardware, AD Policy management, DNS, DHCP, IIS, SharePoint, SQL Express, MSExchange, TCP/IP, Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager, Linux setup and configuration, VMware, Hyper-V, Router and Switch Configuration, Firewall Configuration, Security bets practices, WiFi and 802.1x.
- Working knowledge of electrical, digital, RF and electronic theories and operations.
- Must have an IT technical vocabulary to troubleshoot, create trouble call tickets and work with various support technicians outside of the company.
- A comprehension of equipment management and personnel leadership.
Salary: $35/hr
