Job description
Job Title: Program/Project Manager
Compensation: 200-300k total compensation (inclusive of base and bonus)
Work Model: 4x a week in office, NYC or Stamford
Summary: A leading multi strat hedge fund globally is looking to build out their PMO function and hiring 2 project or program managers to join their team. The ideal candidate has experience delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced financial services environment. This role requires strong technical fluency, exceptional execution discipline, and the ability to translate business objectives into scalable, reliable solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end delivery of complex technical projects and programs, from concept through execution, release planning and post-launch
- Partner closely with engineering, data, product, and business stakeholders to define scope, requirements, timelines, and success metrics
- Drive execution rigor: build and maintain project plans, manage dependencies, mitigate risks, and ensure on-time, high-quality delivery
- Translate business and financial requirements into clear technical deliverables and vice versa
- Proactively identify bottlenecks, tradeoffs, and risks; make data-driven recommendations to leadership
- Lead program-level planning across multiple related initiatives, aligning priorities and sequencing work effectively
- Establish and improve delivery processes, tooling, and reporting to increase transparency and efficiency
- Communicate clearly and concisely with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership
- Ensure projects meet regulatory, security, and operational standards common to financial environments
- Run project or team scrums, tracking metrics such as velocity
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Technical Project Manager, Program Manager, or similar role in finance, fintech, trading, banking, or asset management
- Strong technical fluency-comfortable working with engineers, architects, and data teams (APIs, data pipelines, cloud systems, SDLC, etc.)
- Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and other agile tools; experience with workflow charting tools like Lucidchart
- Demonstrated experience with Scrum, Kanban, or other agile frameworks; Scrum Master certification is a plus
- Proven track record of delivering complex, high-impact initiatives in dynamic, high-accountability environments
- Deep understanding of project and program management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall, or hybrid)
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Strong analytical mindset with comfort working with data, metrics, and KPIs
- Experience with multi-strategy hedge funds or quantitative trading is preferred
