We are seeking a hands-on, visionary Director of IT to architect, secure, and manage our rapidly growing IT and AI infrastructure.

Role Overview

The Director of IT will lead Entanglement’s IT strategy, operations, and infrastructure development. This role requires a unique blend of deep technical expertise in Linux, networking, and security, alongside proven leadership in building scalable enterprise IT environments. The ideal candidate will bring experience with modern orchestration platforms—such as Kubernetes, Rancher, and Docker—and a strong understanding of AI workloads and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Leadership
• Design, deploy, and maintain scalable IT and AI infrastructure across cloud and on-premise environments.
• Drive adoption of modern orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Rancher, Docker) to optimize AI and enterprise workloads.
• Ensure systems are highly available, performant, and secure.
• Security & Compliance
• Lead enterprise security initiatives, including identity/access management, network segmentation, and vulnerability management.
• Implement best practices for data protection, compliance, and incident response.
• Stay ahead of evolving cyber threats and proactively harden infrastructure.
• Networking & Systems Administration
• Architect and manage robust networking solutions to support large-scale, distributed AI workloads.
• Oversee Linux-based systems at scale, ensuring stability, automation, and efficiency.
• Optimize network throughput, storage, and compute resources for high-performance applications.
• Enterprise IT Management
• Partner with leadership to align IT operations with company strategy and growth.
• Manage enterprise applications, SaaS tools, and integrations.
• Develop policies and governance for IT operations, procurement, and vendor management.
• Team Leadership & Collaboration
• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing IT and infrastructure team.
• Collaborate closely with AI research, engineering, and product teams to support technical innovation.
• Manage external partners and vendors to maximize value and ensure service reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles.
• Expert-level Linux administration skills, with deep knowledge of networking and security fundamentals.
• Proven success managing enterprise-scale IT environments.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Rancher, Docker, and related orchestration platforms.
• Experience supporting AI or high-performance computing infrastructure.
• Strong track record implementing IT security best practices and compliance frameworks.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with GPU-based infrastructure and AI/ML workload optimization.
• Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Background in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
• Previous experience in a high-growth tech company or AI-focused environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $107,900.28 - $165,000.00 per year
