SENIOR TECHNICAL ADVISOR FOR BAY AREA'S MOST INNOVATIVE COMPANIES

As our Senior IT Infrastructure Consultant, you'll lead critical infrastructure projects while providing expert-level consultation and technical leadership. You'll be the escalation point for complex technical challenges and the strategic advisor clients trust for their most important technology decisions

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

~Lead Strategic Client Relationships

Serve as the senior technical advisor and escalation point for 3-5 client accounts across healthcare, biotech, aerospace, and humanitarian organizations as well as thriving SMBs. Build lasting partnerships through expert consultation and technical leadership.

~Architect Complex Infrastructure Solutions

Design and implement robust Linux environments, cloud migrations, and enterprise security frameworks. Lead infrastructure modernization projects that enable breakthrough research and global impact initiatives.

~Provide Expert-Level Technical Leadership

Handle escalated technical issues requiring senior-level analysis. Lead incident response for critical outages and provide strategic technology recommendations to C-level executives. Drive engineering teams forward with Linux administration in critical areas.

~Drive Strategic Technology Planning

Be part of technical assessments, vendor evaluations, and technology roadmaps. Present solutions and recommendations to leadership and guide long-term strategic decisions.

~Mentor and Guide Technical Teams

Provide technical mentorship to client IT staff and internal team members. Lead knowledge transfer sessions and establish best practices for complex environments

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Senior Technical Expertise

• 5+ years enterprise Linux system administration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)

• Advanced cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) with architecture design capabilities

• Windows Server and Active Directory administration in enterprise environments

• Network design and security at an expert level (firewalls, VPNs, zero-trust frameworks)

• Virtualization expertise (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V) including cluster management

• Compliance implementation (HIPAA, SOX, FDA 21 CFR Part 11) in regulated environments

Senior Client Advisory Experience

• 3+ years serving as technical escalation point or senior consultant

• Proven track record presenting to C-level executives and making strategic recommendations

• Project leadership experience managing complex technical initiatives from conception to completion

• Mentoring experience with technical staff or client teams

• Strategic thinking ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Leadership Qualities

• Expert problem-solving skills for complex, multi-system challenges

• Executive communication skills for technical and business stakeholders

• Independent decision-making capabilities in high-pressure situations

• Professional presence for client boardrooms and strategic planning sessions

• Bay Area local with flexibility for strategic client meetings

Bonus Points

• Senior-level certifications (RHCE, CISSP, AWS Solutions Architect Professional)

• Previous senior consulting or technical advisory experience with external clients

• Experience leading technical teams or serving as technical escalation point

• Project management certifications or formal training

TOTAL COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Competitive Senior Package

• Total Compensation: $113,400 - $128,800

• Base Salary: $105,000 - $115,000 (based on experience)

• Performance Bonuses: 4-6% twice yearly (8-12% annual potential)
