ONSITE

The System Administrator's role is to ensure the stable operation of the core technology infrastructure of the organization including a variety of critical business systems This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network and telecommunication hardware, software, and communication links. The person will also analyze and resolve end user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required. This position requires 24-hour on-call support based on a rotating schedule.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for the organization's network infrastructure, including;
  • >Network file servers (hardware and software)
  • >Application servers (hardware and software)
  • >Manage, track, and audit the organization's software licenses
  • >Software updates, patching and license compliance
  • >Internet Services (including DNS)
  • >Amazon Web Services (AWS) (Servers & Virtual Desktops)
  • >Network monitoring and up-time
  • Responsible for the organization's telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Responsible for the execution of the organization's IT business continuity plans.
  • Perform day-to-day Help Desk support, as needed, including
  • >Answering the Help Desk phone and monitoring the Help Desk mailbox
  • >Processing and resolving Help Desk support requests
  • Performing administrative functions on a variety of platforms, including (but not limited to) email, network, applications, etc.
  • Working within established priorities, research, evaluate and recommend vendors and products to ensure that they meet the requirements of the organization.
  • Working with the IT Manager, review and recommend technology use policies for the organization.
  • Keep abreast of trends in technology and make recommendations as appropriate.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES including competencies that may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.

  • Must be able to support the following platforms and technologies:
  • Microsoft platforms
  • Advance knowledge of Windows (Windows 10, 2008 R2, 2012 & 2016 Server and Data Center, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite and administrative functions
  • Office 2013 and 2016 (including Outlook and Access)
  • Active Directory
  • Internal DNS
  • Hyper-V, VMWare & Clustering
  • Group Policies (GPO)
  • Microsoft Deployment Tool (Imaging)
  • Microsoft Great Plains Dynamic
  • Amazon Cloud Web Services (AWS)
  • Manage Engine Desktop Central & Service Desk Plus
  • Adobe Cloud platforms
  • Cisco & Dell switches
  • Avaya phone systems
  • Sophos firewall and VPN
