Job Description and Duties:

Under the general direction of the Information Technology Division (ITD), Portfolio Planning Management Branch Chief the Information Technology Manager I (ITM I) serves as the Project Director for projects including the Life Outcomes Improvement System (LOIS) that will replace all legacy case management and fiscal sub-systems with a single modern integrated solution for both the 21 regional centers and state-operated facilities and programs.

The LOIS Section Chief is responsible for the successful management of the on-time, on schedule, and in scope delivery of LOIS. The ITM I will direct the LOIS section which includes project managers, business analysts, quality assurance analysts, technical architects, other technical staff, and consultants. The ITM I also provides leadership and guidance – including establishing and enforcing project management standards, artifacts, and policies. The ITM I will manage the relationship between IT and business area owners to ensure that the Information Technology Division (ITD) is proactively identifying and providing strategic opportunities to advance the business goals of the area through technology.

Must possess the following skills/abilities in order to perform the essential functions of the position include: Strong leadership skills in a complex environment with multiple competing priorities and demands. Effective communication skills. Experience managing or implementing a major cloud service, such as Application as a Service or other similar virtual IT environment. Experience managing vendors and IT Projects. Experience managing a wide variety of technical subject matter experts. Ability to plan, organize, facilitate, and coordinate multiple projects operating under strict guidelines and timeframes. Ability to work across diverse teams of technical, business and executive staff and managing organizational and technological change. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $112,644.00 - $150,948.00 per year
