QPS Flint specializes in the construction of facilities, managing complex projects from estimation through completion for a diverse range of clients. As part of the Quanta Services family, QPS Flint, LLC benefits from the resources, stability, and reach of one of the largest specialty contractors in the world, while maintaining the agility and close-knit culture of a regional team based in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

About the Role

QPS Flint, LLC is seeking a talented and motivated AI Engineer to join our Tulsa office full-time. This is a dynamic, cross-functional role that blends artificial intelligence development, business process improvement, and local IT support. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technologist who is equally comfortable building AI-driven automation tools, collaborating with project teams to streamline workflows, and managing the day-to-day IT needs of the local office that fall outside the scope of corporate IT support.

Key Responsibilities

AI & Automation Development

  • Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered tools to automate and enhance the project estimating process, reducing manual effort and improving accuracy.
  • Analyze existing estimating workflows to identify automation opportunities and integrate AI/ML solutions into existing systems and software platforms.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines and models to support estimating and operational decision-making.
  • Evaluate, test, and implement new AI tools, large language models (LLMs), and related technologies as they become available and relevant to business needs.

Process Improvement & Collaboration

  • Partner with project managers, estimators, and department leads to identify redundant and time-consuming tasks across the business.
  • Design and implement workflow automation solutions (e.g., scripts, bots, AI-assisted tools) to simplify repetitive processes.
  • Document automation solutions and provide training and support to end users to ensure successful adoption.
  • Serve as an internal advisor on AI capabilities and emerging technologies that could benefit the organization.

Local Office IT Support

  • Serve as the first point of contact for Tulsa office personnel experiencing computer-related issues, troubleshooting and resolving common hardware and software problems.
  • Assist with the distribution, setup, and tracking of field laptops and other devices issued to project and field personnel.
  • Escalate issues beyond local scope to corporate IT as appropriate, serving as the liaison between office staff and corporate IT support.
  • Help onboard new employees by ensuring their equipment is ready and basic IT needs are addressed from day one.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 2+ years of experience in software development, AI/ML engineering, or a related technical role
  • Proficiency in Python and/or other relevant programming languages
  • Demonstrated experience working with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) or LLM-based tools (e.g., OpenAI API, LangChain, Anthropic Claude API)
  • Experience with workflow automation tools and scripting (e.g., Power Automate, Zapier, Python scripting)
  • Solid understanding of database concepts and data manipulation (SQL, pandas, etc.)
  • General IT proficiency: experience supporting Windows environments, managing user accounts, and troubleshooting hardware/software issues
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with non-technical staff

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with construction, engineering, or estimating software (e.g., InEight, ProEst, Bluebeam, Sage Estimating) is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 administration
  • Knowledge of API integrations and RESTful services
  • Prior experience in a construction, engineering, or project-based industry

Pay: $90,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • 401(k)
  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off

Work Location: In person
